Dear Friend,

We just got word that Maine House Democrats are meeting tonight to discuss LD 1619 and other bills attempting to expand abortion in our state. That means the LD 1619 and the other abortion bills could be voted upon in the near future. Many of you know that the Maine Council of Churches is publicly supporting LD 1619 and other pro-abortion legislation. These legislators need to know that Maine’s pastors do not support abortion on demand. We’re asking Maine‘s pastors to sign our petition against LD 1619. If you are a pastor, or a priest, please sign this petition as soon as possible. If you are not a pastor or priest, please forward the petition to your spiritual leaders.  Click here for the petition

DON’T LET THEM FORGET

Do you remember the hours-long hearing on the governor’s attempt to legalize the abortion of children who can survive on their own outside of their mothers’ womb? Thanks to you and your effort and support, the public hearing on LD 1619 was one of the longest in our states recent memory. We made sure that the voice of the Maine people responded to the governor’s efforts with a resounding “No”: We want the lives of children protected and nurtured, not destroyed.

Now, our task is to make sure those legislators don’t forget. The current majority in the legislature has until the end of this legislative session to pass this horrible bill.  Our job is to remind them that they can only do so against the expressed will of Maine people.

That is why we want to go to pro-abortion lawmakers and put in the hands of key politicians a reminder of how strongly the Maine public feels about this. That is why speakupforlife.com has compiled a “Testimony Book” on this bill. This book includes every single piece of written testimony submitted on this bill. It is a tangible reminder to the committee that there are 1,184 Mainers who took time out of their workday to formally submit their opposition to the governor’s attempt, and that they will not be able to follow through with this without political consequences.

This is where you come in. Speak Up For Life has already ordered $3,000.00 worth of testimony books to put into the hands of select legislators. But they need the money to be able to fund it. Please consider prayerfully sponsoring one $50.00 book by clicking this link.
